What is API Connection?


API Connection, provided by Merrco, integrates payment processing directly on your checkout page, securing data transmission through Merrco’s API.


This method can support security features such as AVS Check and 3D Secure to protect against fraud and ensure the integrity of each transaction.


Customers enjoy a streamlined checkout process by staying within a single interface from start to finish. Payment card details are entered directly on the checkout screen, eliminating the need to redirect to an external payment page, as is required with Merrco Checkout.




What is Merrco Checkout?


Merrco Checkout is a hosted payment solution from Merrco. Payments are processed securely within Merrco's interface, and the outcomes are immediately relayed back to Buddi to confirm transaction success. This system uses a hosted pay page—a secure online platform where customers complete their purchases.


Here’s how it works:

  1. During checkout, customers are prompted to enter their Billing Postal Code. This action opens the hosted pay page.
  2. Customers then enter their credit card information directly on this secure page to pay for their order.


This method ensures that all online payments are processed through the most secure means available, directly through the payment processor's hosted system. It supports 3D Secure to protect against fraud and ensure the integrity of each transaction.

Getting Started


Whether you opt for API Connection or Merrco (Hosted) Checkout, the account details required to connect to your Buddi menu remain the same. Switching between API Connection and Hosted Checkout is also very easy.


Once your menu is loading live inventory, please email support@merrco.com to initiate the setup.
