To run our kiosk menus in your store, you will need to get tablets and kiosk stands. Set them up in an area of the store that has power outlets so the system can stay on during the day without needing to be recharged.

Supported Tablet Devices

  • Buddi runs on most tablets that are at least 9 inches.
  • The following devices are officially supported for use with the Buddi Kiosk platform:
    • iPad (recommended) (5th Generation and above)
    • Samsung Galaxy Tab A (SM-T510)

Did you know? You don't need a new or fancy device to run the kiosk app! Refurbished devices work too. You can shop for refurbished Apple iPads at the Apple Store, Best Buy, or Amazon.

Kiosk Stands

  • Next, you will need to mount your tablet device onto kiosk stands.
  • There are various options to choose from. The ideal choice depends on your store layout, available resources, and personal preference. The stand can be drilled into a counter or mounted onto a wall.
NOTE: there are many tablet kiosk options available online, including on Amazon, so you're not limited to just these options. Anti-theft tablet stand options can also be sourced from Amazon.

FAQs

How many kiosks should I set up?

  • For smaller stores, we typically recommend 2 stations, 3 - 4 for medium stores, and 5+ for larger stores or stores that want to highly leverage the ordering functionality. If your staff will be using the system on floating iPads to serve customers on the floor, then we suggest an additional tablet for each staff member you expect to be on the floor with iPads.

Where should the kiosks be placed to maximize benefit?

  • From a kiosk location standpoint, we suggest setting the kiosks up in an area of the store where the customer product selection will take place, such as a sniff-jar station, near your display cabinets, or near the front of the store. Retailers using the Buddi Kiosk have the best success when they deploy their tablets near the entrance and/or near the POS. Having multiple Tablet/Kiosk stations allows more customers to browse/order and reduces waiting/lines.
