Switching from API Connection to Hosted Checkout

Switching Methods in Buddi


If you have already been running online payments in your Buddi menu under API Connection, transitioning to Hosted Payments is straightforward.


Here are the steps:

  1. Understand the difference between the two account types.
  2. Go to the Admin Portal > Store Settings > Online Menu: Payment
  3. Select 'Merrco Paysafe'.
  4. Under Configuration type, select ‘Hosted Checkout’.
  5. Select 3D Secure if your payment processor has it enabled.
  6. Hit 'Save'.


Once you switch to Hosted Checkout, the update takes effect immediately! There is no need to configure anything within your Merrco dashboard, and there is no added cost to use Hosted Payments for your Buddi menu.
 

The checkout experience will be slightly different: users will be prompted to enter their Billing Postal Code. Upon selecting 'Place Order,' they will be directed to a hosted payment page. Here, users can securely enter their payment card details. Conversely, with the API Connection method, payment details are entered directly on the checkout screen without any redirection to a pop-up window.



If you do not have online payments set up yet, your account will be automatically configured for Hosted Checkout during the initial setup process with Buddi.
