3 Account Types for Online Payments


If Merrco is your provider, then you have 3 options to choose from to process online payments:

  1. API Connection
  2. Hosted Checkout
  3. PayHQ

 


API Connection

  • Location of Processing: Transactions are processed directly through an API connection between the merchant's platform (e.g., Buddi) and the payment processor (e.g., Merrco).

  • User Interface: Credit card details are entered directly on the checkout screen.

  • Technical Integration: Involves a direct technical integration between the merchant's system and the payment processor. Supports security features such as AVS Check and 3D Secure to protect against fraud and ensure transaction integrity.

  • User Experience: Customers enjoy a streamlined checkout process by staying within a single interface from start to finish, eliminating the need to redirect to an external payment page.



Hosted Checkout

  • Location of Processing: Transactions are processed within the interface of the payment processor (Merrco). The user is redirected to Merrco's platform to complete the payment.

  • User Interface: The 'Billing Postal Code' is entered on the checkout screen, followed by Merrco's hosted pay page popping up for the entry of credit card details.
  • Technical Integration: Provides a simpler and more user-friendly experience as the payment complexities are handled within Merrco's interface. This method requires less technical integration effort on the merchant's side, making it easier to implement. Supports 3D Secure for added fraud protection.
  • User Experience: Ensures that all online payments are processed through the most secure means available, directly through the payment processor's hosted system.

PayHQ

  • Location of Processing: Transactions are processed directly through an API connection between the merchant's platform (Buddi) and the payment processor (Merrco).
  • User Interface: Credit card details are entered directly on the checkout screen.
  • Technical Integration: Provides a comprehensive solution for managing both online and offline transactions effectively from a single platform.
  • Security Features: This solution offers robust security and reporting capabilities, significantly reducing the likelihood of fraudulent disputes. Advanced security settings are managed directly by PayHQ.

  • Additional Features:
    • Receipt Emails: You have the ability to bcc receipt emails; a notification is sent out for every successful or failed transaction.
    • Transaction Tracking: Besides tracking e-commerce payment activity (online Buddi sales), you'll have access to information on all other transactions: paid, unpaid, mobile, web, recurring, invoicing, overdue payments, total sales, and declined payment data.
    • Reporting System: PayHQ has a robust reporting system, providing detailed insights into all aspects of your transactions.
