The printer is working. Something about the output is off. Each of these has a different cause.
The chit is completely blank
Almost always the paper is in upside down.
Thermal paper only prints on one side. Open the cover, take the roll out, flip it over, and reload it so the paper feeds off the bottom towards you.
If the paper is definitely the right way round and chits are still blank, check you are using thermal paper and not ordinary paper. These printers have no ink.
The print is faint, patchy, or fading
If it is faint from new: the paper is likely low quality or old stock. Thermal paper degrades over time, especially if it has been stored somewhere warm or in sunlight. Try a roll from a different batch.
If chits used to be crisp and have got worse: the print head may need cleaning. Dust and paper residue build up on it. Your printer manual covers how to clean it safely, usually with a cleaning pen or isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab, with the printer switched off.
If only part of the chit is faint, in a vertical stripe: that stripe of the print head is failing. This is a hardware fault and the printer needs replacing or servicing.
Chits are stored and they have gone blank
Thermal paper fades. Heat, sunlight, and some plastics will erase a chit over weeks or months.
Chits are a working document for picking and handing off an order, not a record. Do not file them as your record of a sale. Buddi holds the order.
The chit is cut off at the bottom, or the last line is missing
The cutter sits slightly above the print head, so there is always a small blank tail at the end of a chit. That is normal and deliberate.
If actual content is missing, tell us, with a photo if you can. That is a layout problem on our side rather than something you can fix at the store.
The text is too small, or the chit is too narrow
The printer tells us its own paper width and we draw the chit to match. If a chit comes out narrow with wide white margins, the printer may be loaded with the wrong paper width.
Check you are using 80 mm rolls, not 58 mm. The narrower rolls are common and will physically fit in some printers.
The chit prints as rows of symbols or nonsense characters
Contact support with a photo. This is a configuration problem rather than anything at the store, and it is not something you can fix from the printer.
Everything prints on one long strip without being cut
The printer is not receiving the instruction to cut, or the cutter is jammed.
- Open the cover and check for a trapped scrap of paper in the cutter
- Close it, then Print test chit from Store Settings → Printer Settings
- If it still does not cut, contact support
