Generating a Safety Stock Report

Modified on Tue, 25 Mar at 2:22 PM

When a product’s inventory reaches the set Safety Stock threshold, it’s automatically hidden from your online menu but still available for in-store purchase.

How can I quickly find out which products are currently hidden from my menu because of Safety Stock?

While the platform doesn’t yet support automatic safety stock reporting, here’s a fast and effective method you can use to generate a manual report (especially helpful for categories like Flower where inventory turns over quickly).

How to Generate a Safety Stock Report (Manual Method)

1. Review your Safety Stock Settings for a Specific Category

This tells you the minimum quantity before a product becomes hidden from the online menu:

2. Filter for a Specific Category

  • On the 'Inventory Levels' page: Use the 'Type' dropdown and select a category (e.g. Flower). This narrows the list to only those products.

3. Sort by Inventory to Show 'Low in Stock' Products

  • Click the arrow in the 'Inventory' column header to sort in ascending order.

  • Products with inventory will appear at the top.

  • For example, we know that the Safety Stock for  Flower=1. That means we want to identify all products that currently have 1 in the inventory column. These are the products currently not visible online due to Safety Stock.

4. Copy the Data

  • Highlight the applicable rows in the table and copy them:

5. Paste the Data into Excel

  • Open a blank Excel sheet.

  • Click on the first cell.

  • Paste. The data will automatically be organized into table format:

  • Expand the width of the 'Name' and 'Barcode' columns:

6. Change the Format of the Barcode Column

It will be set to 'General' by default, which causes the the Barcodes (UPCs) to appear in scientific notation.

  • Highlight the 'Barcode' Column (D).

  • Select the dropdown that says 'General'.

  • Select 'Fraction' to display the full values:

Barcodes should look like this after being formatted:

That's it!

7. Repeat steps 4 to 6 if you have multiple pages of products.
