Buddi SEO Menu
Product Overview
A guide for retailers. No technical experience required.
What is the Buddi SEO Menu?
The Buddi SEO Menu is your store’s dedicated website: a public-facing page that showcases everything you carry, updated live from your point-of-sale system, at your own web address (for example, yourstore.com).
What makes it different from a standard website menu is that it’s built from the ground up to be found on Google. Not just for your store name or location, but for the specific products you sell.
Example: A customer in Vancouver searches “Pure Sunfarms Pink Kush Vancouver.” With the Buddi SEO Menu, your store’s product page for that item can appear directly in those search results. This is something most standard embedded menus simply cannot do. |
Why it matters for your business
Here are the key ways the Buddi SEO Menu helps your store grow:
- Get found for the products you actually carry. Show up in product searches. When customers search for specific strains, brands, or product types, your store can appear. Not just in “cannabis store near me” results, but for the exact products you carry.
- Spend less on paid ads. Better organic search visibility means you don’t have to rely as heavily on advertising to drive traffic.
- Your inventory updates automatically. Every time you make a change in your POS system, your online menu reflects it. Customers always see what’s actually in stock.
- It lives on your domain. Your menu appears at yourstore.com, not on a third-party platform. This builds your brand’s authority with Google over time.
- Works on every device. The menu is fast and easy to use on phones, tablets, and desktops.
How it works (the simple version)
You don’t need to manage your menu manually. Here’s the flow:
- Your inventory lives in your POS. You manage products the same way you always have, in your existing system.
- Buddi connects to your POS. Our platform pulls your live inventory and displays it on your public-facing menu.
- Google finds your products. Because each product has its own optimized page, Google can read and index them individually, putting your specific items in front of customers who are searching for them.
- Customers discover your store. A shopper searches for a product, finds your page in the results, and arrives at your store already knowing what they want.
Keep in mind: SEO is not instant. It typically takes several weeks to a few months for Google to fully index your menu and for your rankings to build. The Buddi SEO Menu gives you the right foundation, but it works best when you invest in it over time. |
What customers see
When a customer visits your Buddi SEO Menu, they can:
- Browse your full product catalogue, organized by category (flower, edibles, concentrates, and more).
- Filter by product type, brand, price, or other attributes to find exactly what they want.
- See product photos, descriptions, and pricing, just like on any modern retail website.
- Place an order online or check stock before coming in, depending on your store’s setup.
Your effort shapes your results
The Buddi SEO Menu is a powerful tool, but it’s not a set-it-and-forget-it solution. Think of it like a garden: the platform gives you great soil, but the more you tend to it, the better it grows.
Google rewards pages that have rich, unique, and helpful content. Here’s where your input makes a real difference:
- Write unique product descriptions. If your product descriptions are just copied from the brand’s website, Google treats your page as a duplicate and ranks it lower. Your own words (even a sentence or two) help you stand out.
- Keep your product photos up to date. Clear, accurate images improve the customer experience and signal quality to search engines.
- Fill out all available product details. The more complete your product data (terpenes, effects, brand story), the more content Google has to work with.
- Respond to customer reviews. Engagement signals to Google that your store is active and relevant.
Bottom line: Retailers who actively maintain their menu content tend to rank significantly higher than those who set it up and walk away. The Buddi team can point you in the right direction, but the content work is what sets the top performers apart. |
Getting set up
Setting up your Buddi SEO Menu means connecting your existing domain (yourstore.com) to your new menu. Buddi handles the technical side. Here’s what the process looks like from your perspective:
- Kick-off conversation. Your Buddi onboarding contact will walk you through what to expect, confirm your domain details, and answer any questions.
- Customize your menu before launch. Before going live, you’ll want to log into Buddi and adjust your settings (store hours, contact information, and other preferences) and configure your theme so the menu looks and feels like your brand. This is also the time to start adding unique product descriptions.
- Domain connection. We’ll connect your existing domain (yourstore.com) to your Buddi menu. This involves a small update to your domain’s DNS settings, essentially telling the internet to point your address to your new menu. If this sounds unfamiliar, don’t worry. The Buddi team can walk you through it or make the change on your behalf. Many retailers prefer to have us handle this step.
- Go live. Once everything is connected and you’re happy with how your menu looks, it goes live and becomes visible to customers and search engines.
Timeline: Most retailers are up and running within a few business days of starting the process. The Buddi team handles all the technical setup. Your role is to review your content and brand settings before launch. |
Once you’re live
After your menu launches, your inventory will continue to update automatically whenever you make changes in your POS system. There’s no separate menu to maintain.
Over time, your goal is to keep your product content fresh and detailed. The stores that perform best on Google are the ones that treat their online menu like a living part of their business, not just a list of products.
If you ever have questions, want to update your theme, or need support, the Buddi team is here to help.
