Import Products to Build a Collection

Easily build a collection by importing products from a CSV file, rather than individually selecting products.

Steps:

  1. Admin Portal > Promotions > Collections
  2. Click 'Imported Products from CSV'
  3. Download a sample CSV template

Four key pieces of data are required on the spreadsheet:
    1. Product Name
    2. UPC code

  4. Export an inventory list from your POS. Data will be transferred from that CSV file to Buddi's sample CSV template. Ensure that the exported file contains the UPC code. Where you export the file depends on what type of Collection you are building.

    For example:
Let's say we are building a Collection for 'New Arrivals' in Greenline.

There are several places to export inventory as a CSV file in Greenline, but in this instance, it would be easiest to identify newly stocked products in Reports > Inventory Logs (as it contains the Barcode, Product Name, and Inventory # changes):

    1. Filter by Date Range (select your inventory day) > hit 'Apply' > hit 'Export'

    2. Open the exported Greenline CSV file

    3. Select the applicable rows in Column E (Product) > right click to copy

    4. Open the Buddi sample CSV template
      • Under the Product Name column, right click to paste the details you just copied.

    5. Go back to the exported Greenline CSV file > Highlight the entire D Column (Barcode) > use the dropdown in the Excel toolbar to change the selection from 'General' to 'Fraction' (this will expand the digits) > right click to copy

    6. Go back to the Buddi sample CSV template
      • Under the UPC Barcode column, right click to paste the details you just copied

    7. Save over the template file > Rename the file so that it indicates the Collection Name and/or Date

    8. Import the file into Buddi:
      1. Admin Portal > Promotions > Collections
      2. Click 'Imported Products from CSV'
      3. Drop your file / Click to select > hit 'Import'

    9. That's it! You can finish setting up your 'New Arrivals' Collection from here.

      Bonus:
      • Checkmark 'Apply Collection as a filter' if you want a button for it on the menu; and/or

      • Set up Special Messages for the Collection (this will tag each listing with a caption). For example, let's say we want the Special Message to say 'New Drops'.
