Importing Products to Build a Collection (CSV File)

Modified on Fri, 29 Nov at 2:43 PM

You can choose to build a collection by importing products from a CSV file, rather than individually selecting products. This bulk import method saves time and streamlines the process of building Collections, especially when managing large inventories.

How to Set up + Upload a CSV File to Bulk Import Products

  1. Go to Admin Portal > Promotions > Collections > hit 'New Collection'.

  2. Downloading Buddi's Template File:
Click 'Imported Products from CSV' to access the download link for 'Sample CSV Template'.

  3. Exporting Inventory from your POS:
    1. Go to your product list in your POS catalog.
    2. Filter by category to only show products.
    3. Export an inventory list from your POS catalog ('POS export file').

  4. Mapping your Product Data to the Template File:
    1. Open your POS export file and the Sample CSV Template side-by-side.
    2. Copy + paste these two columns from your POS export file onto the template file:
      • Product Name
      • Barcode (UPC)

  5. Saving the Template File:
    1. Save over the template file.
    2. Rename the file so that it indicates the Collection Name and/or Date.

  6. Uploading the Template File:
    1. Go back to the 'New Collection' page in Buddi.
    2. Click on 'Imported Products from CSV' to upload the prepared template file.

  7. Fill out remaining details in your Collection.

  8. Hit 'Save'.

Optional:

  • Checkmark 'Apply Collection as a filter' if you want a button for it on the menu.

  • Set up Special Messages for the Collection (this will tag each listing with a caption).
    • For example, let's say we built a Collection called 'New Arrivals'. You can set up a Special Message that says 'New Drops'.
