What to do when a product is tagged with 'Limited Content'
Overview
What is happening?
The 'Limited Content' notification means our system has identified products in your menu that are missing specific details. These items are automatically tagged with a red Limited Content icon to help you quickly address the gaps.
A product will receive this tag if it is missing any of the following:
- Type: the category or type of the product
- Images: at least one image must be associated with the product
- Description: a brief written description
- Cannabinoids: at least one cannabinoid value (THC, CBD, CBG, or CBN)
This tagging system is designed to ensure that all products on your menu are complete and appealing to customers, helping to improve their shopping experience.
How to Resolve Limited Content Errors
You can resolve a Limited Content tag in a few different ways, depending on whether the missing information is available in Buddi’s database:
- Fill in details manually
- Use the 'Search & Apply Product Content' tool
- Reset Content
Option 1 - Fill in details manually
For products missing from Buddi entirely
If this is a new-to-market product your store just started carrying, it may not yet exist in Buddi’s database.
You can manually add any missing details (type, images, description, cannabinoid values) directly in the listing.
If you have crucial product details, please also send them to support@buddi.io so we can add or complete the listing in our system for future use. Clear photos of the front and back of the product package is very helpful for our team when adding content.
Option 2 - Search & Apply Product Content
Recommended if content exists in Buddi
If the product exists in Buddi’s Product Catalog, you can quickly populate the missing details using the Search & Apply Product Content tool:
- In Admin Portal >'My Menu', checkmark the 'Limited Content' filter on the right.
- Click the product you want to update.
- In the 'Search & Apply Product Content' panel, click 'Get Started'.
- Search by keywords from the product name.
- If a match appears, click 'Insert' to pull in the content.
- Review and edit as needed.
- Enter a number into the variant field and select the variant unit in the dropdown (if missing).
These two fields must be filled in order to save the listing.
- Hit 'Save'.
Option 3 - Reset Content
Recommended if the listing may be outdated
If your store previously saved the listing in 'My Menu' before our database was updated, the listing may not reflect the most current details. In this case, use 'Reset Content' in the listing to pull the latest content from Buddi:
- Open the product listing in 'My Menu'.
- Click 'Reset Content'.
- The listing will repopulate with the most up-to-date data from our system.
Important:
- Resetting will clear any custom edits (including THC/CBD values you entered manually).
- If the UPC is still missing from our database, all product fields will be blank after resetting. In that case:
- You can use Search & Apply Product Content to refill the listing; or
- Save screenshots of your current content before resetting so you can re-enter any important details.
If details are still missing after updating...
If the product does not appear in the Search & Apply results, or the listing is cleared after resetting content, then it's highly likely we don’t have it in our database yet. Email support@buddi.io with these product details:
Product Name
Brand
Variant details (size, format)
UPC; or
Two clear product photos showing this information
The 'Limited Content' tag will automatically disappear once the product has been updated with all relevant details.
If crucial details are not immediately available, or you've identified significant errors, you may choose to hide the product temporarily. Notify us with product details listed above.
