Requirements for Products to Sync
- The POS integration must be activated in both systems.
- These product details must be entered in your POS catalog:
- UPC code
- Price
- Inventory count
How the Integration Works
Cannabis Products
If you are using TechPOS, cannabis inventory can automatically sync into Buddi. You do not have to manually import/export those products into our platform.
Once the integration is enabled in Buddi, live inventory will sync into the menu (if you have products in stock).
- Cannabis product listings in your Buddi menu come preloaded with information (such as photos, LP/Brand, variant, description, and cannabinoid content). The content is auto-populated from our database.
NOTE: We do our best to catalog content for products however we cannot catalog information on every cannabis product that exists due to the sheer number of them.
Retailers can customize or add missing content as needed: Go to Admin Portal > My Menu, select a product that needs content, and add in the missing information.
Accessory Products
Accessories behave differently from cannabis products; product content will not auto-populate your menu.
***NEW*** Buddi can auto-sync accessories from TechPOS now!
- To get started, add these details to your accessory listings in TechPOS:
- Product Name
- Category
- Product Description
- Image (obtain the URL after uploading)
- Variant
- Price
- UPC (not the same as SKU)
All in-stock items must have a UPC code attached. Accessory items don't come with universal UPCs (like cannabis products do), which means you would have to come up with these yourself.
- Product Name
- After you have completed the accessory listings in TechPOS, email support@buddi.io and request the accessory auto-syncing feature to be turned on.

Adding Discounts
Buddi will automatically sync sale prices (product discounts) from TechPOS.
Troubleshooting: When Products Are Not Syncing
Are there any missing product details?
- Your in-stock product must have a UPC and Price entered in TechPOS.
What do UPCs look like?
- Generally, Buddi is looking for 12 digit UPC codes in your POS. It can be easily mistaken with SKUs; they are not the same thing.
- UPCs can be 14 digits long if there are two leading zeros in the front '00').
- The string of numbers is also found on the product label, right after the '00'.
- Accessory UPCs do not have to follow the same format; most of them are created by you.
When creating a UPC for your accessory:- DO NOT copy and paste the SKU
- DO NOT use symbol characters, such as -
- DO NOT use more than 12 characters
Are the UPC codes entered correctly into your POS?
- Check the UPC in your POS listing.
- Does it match what's shown on the physical product label?
- Search the UPC in the Admin Portal > My Menu page > Product Catalog.
- Enter the correct UPC in TechPOS. It must match the one in Buddi's Product Catalog.
NOTE: If the UPC in TechPOS has 4 or more zeroes at the end, e.g. 0000, 000000, 0000000, then the UPC is wrong. This is a known issue with UPCs that were automatically added to TechPOS.
Finding a Buddi listing in TechPOS:
- Check the 'incorrect UPC code detected' error notification on the 'My Menu' page.
- Search that UPC in TechPOS.
Is there inventory for the product?
- Check the inventory count in your POS. Complete your Purchase Order once you've counted new inventory.
Is the system waiting for the next sync cycle?
- Keep in mind that product content updates take time to sync into Buddi.
- To speed up the process, click on 'Sync New Products' in 'My Menu':
NOTE: The 'Last Content Sync' function in 'My Menu' indicates when the last sync cycle kicked in: ## minutes ago. Refresh the browser to see the updated time.
Missing Accessory Products
Does the product belong to a new category in TechPOS?
- Please notify Buddi about any new categories!
- Each time you add a new one, it needs to be activated on our end to sync.
