Cova: Pricing Groups

Modified on Mon, 16 Mar at 5:30 PM

Overview

Some retailers using Cova have pricing tiers for specific customers, such as special group or member pricing.

Buddi typically displays and charges the Regular Price entered in Cova unless there is a Sale Price entered within the individual listing or a Cova Promotion applied.

***IMPORTANT***

If you create additional Pricing groups in Cova (for example Employee Pricing, Staff Pricing, Member Pricing, etc), please notify the Buddi team so we can ensure the correct pricing continues to display on your Buddi menu.

Buddi cannot support both Regular Price and customer-specific Pricing Groups from Cova at the same time.

Current Workarounds

Retailers using Cova member pricing typically use one of the following approaches.

Option 1:  Use Buddi Discount Codes

(Recommended)

Create a Discount Code in Buddi that reflects the special group or member pricing in Cova.

Example workflow:

  1. Create a Collection containing the eligible products.

  2. Create a Discount Code for the Collection you created.

  3. Provide the code to eligible customers (for example through Special Messages).

  4. Customers apply the code during checkout.

This approach allows the correct pricing to appear on the Buddi order before it is sent to Cova.

Option 2:  Adjust the Order in Cova

If a customer forgets to apply their Discount Code:

  1. The order may or may not appear in Cova.

  2. If it does, it will be created in Cova at the regular price.

  3. Staff can manually adjust the order price in the POS before tendering the sale.

This approach requires staff intervention but ensures the customer receives the correct pricing.

Notes:

  • Customer matching between Buddi and Cova does not apply pricing tiers.
  • Member pricing must be handled through Buddi Promotions or POS adjustments.
  • If customers frequently forget discount codes, consider displaying the code using Special Messages or other promotional tools in Buddi.

Future Improvements

Buddi may be able to support customer pricing levels in the future if Cova provides an API endpoint that allows integrations to retrieve and apply those pricing tiers.
