Creating Discounts for your AlpineIQ Wallet

Creating discounts in your Alpine IQ dashboard can significantly enhance your customer engagement and drive sales for your business. Follow the steps below to set up discounts that would appear in your customers' wallets, allowing them to use these rewards for purchases made on the Buddi menu.

1. Access the Discounts Section
   • Navigate to the Alpine IQ dashboard.
   • Locate and click on the "Discounts" section.
     
     
2. Choose Discount Type
   • You can create various types of discounts, such as tiered discounts where the discount amount increases with the number of points redeemed, or custom discounts tailored to specific promotions.
     
     
3. Create a New Discount
   • Click on the option to create a new discount.
   • Decide what you want to discount. For instance, you can create a "New Customer" discount and name it "New Customer 10."
     
     
4. Add a Description
   • Write a short description that will appear in the customer’s wallet. For example, "10% off for new customers."
     
     
5. Specify Discount Details
   • Note that these discounts are not product-specific but can be applied to all types of products.
   • Optionally, upload an image to accompany the discount.
     
     
6. Set Timing and Target Audience
   • Choose the start time for the discount. You can set it to start immediately and never expire, or set an expiration date.
   • Select the target audience. This can be all stores or specific stores within your chain.
     
     
7. Determine Points Required
   • Specify how many points are required for the discount to be redeemed. For instance, you might require 10 points.
     
     
8. One-Time Use or Multiple Uses
   • Decide whether the discount can be used multiple times or is limited to a one-time use only.
     
     
9. Configure Discount Type
   • Although you can create dollar discounts in the Alpine IQ dashboard, Buddy only supports percentage-based discounts to avoid selling products at cost. Ensure this field is correctly filled out with the percentage discount, such as "10% off."
     
     
10. Publish the Discount
    • Review your settings and publish the discount.
    • Confirm that the new discount appears in the Buddy menu by selecting items, proceeding to checkout, and entering your phone number to apply the discount.
      
      
11. Apply the Discount
    • Upon checkout, customers will enter their phone number to connect, receive a code, and apply the discount by redeeming the required points.
    • The discount will be applied, and the points deducted from the customer's balance.

Notes:

• Discounts are global, meaning that they can be applied to all products (if you are looking to create product specific discounts, please use the 'Promotions' section in the Buddi Admin Portal).
• Only %-based discounts will appear in the wallet.
  
  
• AlpineIQ Rewards will appear as 'Club Discounts' in the order in both Buddi and Greenline, helping to differentiate them from Discount Codes in Buddi.
   
• Currently, rewards are stackable with AlpineIQ discounts and Buddi Discount Codes. We are looking to create a feature to toggle this in the near future.
