Syncing Accessory Content from TechPOS

Overview


Buddi seamlessly integrates with TechPOS to auto-sync accessories into Buddi. This ensures that accessory content is consistently updated and accurate across both systems.


Initial Setup and Updates


For accessories to sync into Buddi, our team must activate specific functions on the backend:

  1. Initial Mass-Import of Accessories:
    Ensures that all existing accessory items are synchronized when first setting up the feature.

  2. Addition of New Product Categories:
    Incorporates newly-added product categories from your POS catalog into Buddi.


Before reaching out to support@buddi.io, please update your POS catalog with the necessary product details.

NOTE: Barcode/UPC, price, and inventory count are mandatory for accessories to sync into Buddi. Descriptions and photos are optional but highly recommended. Product listings without photos add clutter to the menu and doesn't look good.
When adding a new product category for accessories (e.g., bongs, pipes, 510 batteries) in TechPOS, it's essential to notify Buddi.

We need to activate the new category on our end for the products to sync.



Tips for Effective Product Syncing:


1.  UPC Requirements

  • Ensure every in-stock item has a UPC code attached.
  • Items without a UPC will not sync into Buddi.


2.  Formatting UPC Codes

  • UPCs should contain only letters, numbers, or a combination of both (no special characters).
  • It has to be different from the SKU to avoid syncing conflicts.


3.  Managing Product Categories

  • Maintain clean and organized product categories to ensure efficient management and syncing.

  • Optional: Consider using these names for consistency with Buddi:
    Bongs
    Books
    Cleaning
    Grinder
    Papers

    Pipes
    Rolling Supplies
    Storage
    Lighters
    Clothing
    Other / Misc

    Accessory Vape: Dry Herb
    Accessory Vape: Concentrate (these are your 510 thread vape batteries)
    Accessory Vape: Part


How to Add Accessory Product Images

Recommendation: add them to TechPOS


Notes:

  • Photos added in TechPOS will automatically sync into Buddi in the next sync cycle and show on your menu. Use the 'Force Sync' feature in the Admin Portal > 'My Menu' page to speed up the sync and see your updates quicker.
      
  • This applies to accessory products only. Cannabis products  already have images pre-populated in Buddi by default.


Optional: Add Additional Images to Buddi

  1. Sign into the Admin Portal > go to 'My Menu'.
  2. Search for your Product > click on the Product.
  3. Upload image(s) > hit 'Save'.

    This method allows you to upload up to 3 images (whereas TechPOS allows only 1 image upload per variant).
