Cova Pay Setup Guide

This guide explains how to connect your Buddi-integrated store to Cova Pay and outlines important considerations like security, refunds, and tipping.

Getting Started

If you're already using Cova Pay in-store and want to add your Buddi-integrated store for online payments:

1. Email covapay@covasoftware.com and Cc. support@buddi.io

2. Let their team know you’d like to set up online payments and include your Buddi menu URL in the message

3. Cova Pay will add the URL to their allow-list

4. Once your Cova Pay account is configured, make sure the menu URL is added to: Admin Portal > Store Settings > Online Menu: Payment. Then activate online payments in Online Menu: Configuration

5. Run a paid test order
   

6. Notify support@buddi.io that your online payments are ready. Let us know if you need any further assistance!

    

3D Security 2.0 (3DS2)

Buddi supports this authentication feature with Cova Pay. We highly recommend adopting 3D Secure 2.0 (3DS2) to protect your online transactions.

Refunds

Cova Pay users can process refunds through Buddi. Please note that refunding a paid order is a 2-step process.

Notes:

• The Order Reference number is a randomly generated number prefixed by BUDDI (example: BUDDI-123412341234). This number appears in the Buddi queue, and it appears within Cova Reporting in place of the ‘Receipt Number'. It does not appear in the Cova POS.
  
  
• Payment details (card type, last 4 digits, etc) are not displayed in the Buddi Order Queue, but can be viewed in the Cova Hub > Payment and Settlement details report.

  NOTE: To verify the last four digits of a payment card, staff should note the numbers ahead of time so they can be referenced with the physical card when the customer comes to pick up their order. A good place to write this down is on the store's copy of the printed POS receipt.

• Tipping can be configured in Buddi. However, the tips will only appear in the Cova Pay reports and not in the Sales-based reports in Hub (such as the End-of-Day Report).
